Gen 6, always.
I don't understand why many people say that gen 5 was the start of the downfall of the entire series. It was very much the best gen overall, and was the swan song of Pokemon as we used to know.
Gen 6 introduced many massive recurring problems that the series is always plagued with.
>Rushed games and developed with a workforce that had extremely poor experience with 3D. Had they took their time, it wouldn't been as rushed it was. There was a clear indication that they still reused their ideas in it's future games, after when they had to rush X and Y, leaving it completely unfinished.https://medium.com/@pankopop/the-xy-files-the-lost-plot-of-pokemons-6th-generation-d0d140881148>Poor story development, did not flesh it's story properly>Small and limited regions>Sub 100 amount of new pokemon every game, another clear indicator of rushing the game.>Characters that are not fleshed out, and were often quite generic compared to earlier characters >Generational battle gimmicks introduced in every new gen. Extremely poor attempt at keeping the series fresh.>Massive amounts of shoehorned nostalgia in places where it wasn't necessary.>Clear lack of passion in the entire series due to years and years on working the entire series with no extended breaks. And lack of new members in taking the reins of the entire series when it's clearly needed to keep it fresh as possible.>Pandered too much to it's fanbase. Once in a while is good enough, but with this amount of nostalgia-baiting and waifufagging does it more bad than good.Gamefreak seriously needs to stop rushing all of their games for the sole purpose of making a buck for Pokemon Company. And along with reworking their team structure to be entirely all-new for future installments. Give those old men in the sets a goddamn retirement from the series.
