I baffles me that GF keeps trying to appeal to genwunners who likely don't buy the games anymore, while Pokemon's core audience of young adults/people in their 20's have long moved on from it and have other favorites who are getting ignored in favor of Charizard.
Dark Mewtwo makes no sense, fighting games generally have a dark boss type character, but it's like they forgot Mewtwo doesn't need to have a made up form to function as a boss character. The "it saves time" excuse is bullshit because this game has been in development since ~2014. Zoroark should've gotten in to be the 'rival' to the forced protagonist Lucario and have Mewtwo take Dark Mewtwo's spot as the boss with the cloaked white haired girl.
