RS kinda sucked on release and Colosseum was mediocre. Gen 3 really started to get good with FRLG and ended strong with Emerald and XD, so play those 3-4 games. Yes, Emerald is a far better game than RS and ORAS. Original Hoenn was pretty barebones aside from contests and was heavily lacking in its main gimmick, double battles. ORAS fucked with a lot of other shit that I'm not going into detail over because this is a gen 3 thread.
