So I listen to documentaries and stuff when I grind to help the time go by. I finished episode 10 of Last Dance today and realized I was STILL grinding. So I decided to make a game plan and just fucking go for Red. I figured that the EV training I did, which I never do usually, would help make up the level difference. But perhaps most importantly, I had a Volt Absorb Pokemon to deal with Pikachu who I was most worried about.
>Pikachu
My jolteon's bolt absorb meant he just kept quick attacking, which didn't do much after an X-Defend (I only use items against NPCs that also use items btw). So I set up and wore it down with Shadow Balls. Red used his Full Restores here. I like the canon care for pikachu, but probably wasn't the best use of resources. Biggest fear was dealt with.
>Snorlax
This was mostly a patience thing, he never ended up using giga impact. After switching various pokemon around for status and nibbling away, a thunder brought it down.
>Lapras
Just took a charge beam and Thunder
>Venusaur
What a stalling pain. Took rotations and sand attacks again but eventually my typhlosian's blastburmn brought it down
>Charizard
Sand attacks baby! Then a switch over to rodel the qwilfish for a waterfall. The first one didn't kill it though! Then some air slashes came crashing in and my poor special defense was showing. But decided to risk going for the finishing blow on 7 hp (pic related) cause it seemed safe with my speed (again, fuck octillery, pufferfish are my friends now)
