The story for Teal Mask was so brutally censored and stymied by the fact that it had to be fit into a rushed pokemon game.
As a result it comes out so muddled with absolutely nothing to take away from it aside from some kind of weird reverse anti bullying message that's probably there to chastise hikkikomori.
It's actually truly upsetting that I just played a video game that was about not only cucking and mentally breaking a small child. It was done with the veneer of a strange disney level sanitary smile on the front.
Even the games that literally had nonstories that were simply lines of trainers to fight as a result, have given me a better narrative experience, if only because as a child I could inject my own imagination into it.
