>>55949336I ended up savescumming for this last fight because I forgot to relearn Leech Seed after the 195 fight, since Leech Seed+Sleep Powder shuts Eternatus down pretty hard.
Anyway, I had to Growth 5 times and Giga Drain it instead and that's where the retries happened.
It was free to setup 3 Swords Dances with Rhyperior after that and finish it, though Earthquake also killed Venusaur.
So, duo runs are more fun tha trying to bruteforce or luckshit a solo run. You've gotta think about your partner and how it compliments your main mon, and take the best routes for them. It relies less on RNG, though some fights might fuck you over with cover moves you weren't expecting to see in an enemy.
Venusaur gets some pretty good egg moves in Giga Drain and Sludge Bomb, though you can also get them through TMs if you don't have them. Sappy Seed is cool and all, but you can learn Leech Seed if you don't have it.
Both Mega and G-Max are pretty good, but Mega is way better due to Think Fat basically making Fire and Ice do neutral damage.
Rhyhorn gets some insane egg moves like Flare Blitz and Wave Crash that pair well with Rock Head, but they don't help you that much once you become Rhyperior and your ability changes to Solid Rock. It looks like if you get Filter, its passive, they both reduce super effective damage.
Coupled with it's solid Defense, you can withstand some physical attacks, even if they're Grass or Water.
It also gets Shore Up; coupling it with Swords Dance, you can sweep physical teams and recover if you ever get into the danger zone.
If I had to rate them, Venusaur would be A+. Solid damage, typing, supporting, bulk, speed (for being a tank). Solid all around.
Rhyperior would be C. Pretty bad typing, Sp. Def. and speed, but decent ability and passive to mitigate it and solid Atk. and Def.
Thanks for reading my blog, bye.
