Gamers today don't have the patience to kill every monster to begin the genocide run, so we decided that if you kill only a single monster, the genocide run will begin.
In order to make sure the graphics and animations are on par, some of the characters had to be cut. Originally in the game, there was a second skeleton, named Papyrus, we figured, players would probably get confused if there were TWO skeletons. Haha.
Likewise, there was two other goats set to appear in the game, Asgore and Asriel, but much like with Papyrus, we decided to cut them during development and simply made the extremely popular character Sans the final obstacle of both sides of the game.
