Johto is definitely my favorite region but I'm always impressed by the depth that so much fanart gives to Hoenn. I think that region is well suited to it because of how varied the landscapes are and how large the ocean is, which makes it seem vast. And the bright colors in both the art and graphics make it feel welcoming. So whenever I see art like this, I just feel so awestruck with how many people must have played this little GBA game and been transported in their minds to some endless wilderness, never knowing where their next turn would take them, but not particularly caring either.
