With Meganium, same principle, different execution. Switch it in, soak hits while setting up a screen, switch into something that is normally fragile but has moves that can deal with the opposition.
It's okay for a starter to be a defensive backbone for your team rather than a hyperoffense PoS made out of paper like Infernape. I swear that guy and its mixed attacking stats could never manage to KO anything without the aid of held items, yet its defenses were low enough that it was always in danger of falling over.
