>>41385304I disagree on the first part, I think Johto has an identity of it's own. It's a brother of Kanto, if anything. Johto is much more about traditions and the old ways while Kanto is much more industrial.
You got Kurt making Pokeballs the old way, Kimono girls and Morty keeping Ecruteak traditions alive, and one of the NPCs in Violet City talks about how all the building colors are much more somber, as they try to keep their architecture of the past, and you've also got the sages of Sprout Tower. Goldenrod is about as tech-heavy as you get. Johto is all about its roots while Kanto is much more about moving along. They both have their own thing going on.
