I rewatched the first movie in Japnese, comparing the dialogue.
I do miss brother my brother and team rocket gags, and the heavy-handed writing is charming in it's own way. But holy shit Mewtwo was such a better character.

And I liked Mew being on the opposite side of mewtwo, while the humans want them equal, rather than it being "everyone vs mewtwo". Though I don't really understand why Mew even showed up.
