run has not been kind to the ladies so far. archer is added as a new boss at the end of mt. moon, and despite giving his ace mightyena -1 speed from cain's rock tomb, it still outsped and one shotted jemina with an ice fang. and, again, could have potentially ran through the team had bradley not been an absolute tank who landed a lucky paralysis with spark.
this time i made sure to do the max raid event first, nabbing myself cedric the pansage in the process (still have no idea how to treat max raid mons, but i did catch a shinx for my first encounter on the same route just in case). despite 3 grass types, though, misty is definitely worrying - this is definitely the kind of game that would give her ice beam to muscle through my team. might just skip her entirely and go to vermilion, if the game even allows me. or might do some ev training/grinding since the game handed me the macho brace.
