There literally ARE 18 gyms in the story and this is literally what GF said. This is a fact.
The Japanese previews DID say there are more Pokemon than previous generations, but "more" in the essence that you see new Pokemon "more often" not that the number is literally higher than older generations. English previews said a similar thing. Also, they didn't say WHICH older generations. It could be more than gen 6 and 7 and still be true.
It would be great if Joe gave context to his tweets instead of just saying something vague and everyone mindlessly parroting him like a retard.
