>PersonalityMore of a "jerk" rival like green/blue/gary and silver, though he's much more of a comical, over confident blowhard who likes to talk himself up as the greatest thing ever and while he does care about his pokemon, he doesn't like to let it show because it might tarnish his tough guy image. He takes defeat hard and when he loses his confidence seems to disappear entirely but he always bounces back in time for the next rematch.
>Partner PokemonHis starter may be his ace in battle but his bro4lyfe is his Gumshoos, which he's had since even before he stole a starter.
>TeamAs stated before, Gumshoos is his bro and serves to give him another pokemon early on, Scrafty is his only other set pokemon and it fits in with his rebellious image, I chose the starters I did because I thought of them as the "edgiest" of each type which also adds to his teams theme, the same train of thought dictated his other grass/fire/water type coverage pokemon, finally, I wanted the rival to get the fossil pokemon the player doesn't, any would work but I went with Armaldo because it doesn't give him another fighting weakness and Bastiodon because he doesn't have any other gen IV pokemon.
