I definitely had fun with it. Presentation is great, online was barebores but to the point, and I appreciate the novelty battle modes. More traditional gauntlets might have been better, but we had two games absolutely full of those already. All made seamless to jump in to by FINALLY having automatic level-scaling on the console-side game. When you have navigated its nonsense, it does its job nicely. Just a shame that there is a good deal of nonsense to navigate, and not just the lack of rentals.
>>54140337While I think the Stadium games still take the crown for being big celebrations of their Game Boy counterparts, Battle Revolution felt like Genius took the board game video game aesthetic and cranked it up to 11. Its the mix of unrelated and needlessly backgrounds and the quick but mostly low-key. It works with a game that is ultimately static pieces running back and forth on a stage and actually fits the vibe of the Wii and the Wii *blank* series pretty nicely too.
