I loved Pokemon. I've been a fan of the series ever since Red/Blue. It was one of my special interests growing up as a kid, and to be honest, in my adult years as well. I've collected a vast amount of the trading cards, bought every single game, mainline and spin-off, and watched every episode of every season of the anime (minus the new swsh season). At this point, Pokemon has become a staple of my life.
But I think, after all these years, it's time to let go.
Gamefreak doesn't care about us anymore. They haven't since B/W. We are not the target audience for Pokemon anymore. Gamefreak knows that no matter how effortless their games are, they will sell millions upon millions of copies because it has their brand on it. They're will be backlash, yes, there's been so much of it for the past 5 months, but no matter how hard we try, no matter how loud are voices are, they will chose to ignore it and only recognize the positivity rewarding their mediocrity.
All great things come to and end, and Pokemon has sadly reached it. I believe in you, /vp/, move on. There's nothing we can do anymore. It's over.
