>>38307169I liked the way Ni No Kuni did it, didn't look stupid at all. Having OW encounters encourages Game Freak to design the areas better, which leads to better exploration and side quests. I want to experience an adventure. See the pokemon interacting with their environment, events like pic related. Give me non-special pokemon that leave trails at specific times and areas, NPC dialogues for clues, short adventures with said NPCs, instead of tutorial-one-liners till endgame. The only way for Pokemon to really improve is to get rid of random encounters and the mass factory made pokemon. Start over with a limited amount of pokemon, and work the above said and animations better. I understand people want to play with their favorites, but having this many creatures will only hurt the franchise. Being attacked by the region pests 3 times for reaching an item that's 5 steps away, only to get rewarded with shop items and TMs i don't even use or gimmick-item#999. It's not challenging or rewarding at all. The turn-based combat is bland as it is, if there's no room for improvement in that department, make the adventure a worthwhile and memorable experience at the very least.
