I'd be a scholar who studies battle tactics and arcane knowledge few ever bother to research. We'd meet after he joined to assist the group I'm affiliated with or if I'm going solo, he comes across me praticing somewhere not too far from a battle facility.
I wouldn't exactly get along with him at first, but after a battle or two, we'd spend some time together over similar interests during recovery which led me warm up to him and eventually, him winning me over with his prowess and kind heart. His admiration for rocks is also adorable and quite contagious.
