What I like so much more about Digimon, is rather than making marketable legendary duos, Digimon just has actual factions or groups of god-tier creatures. It's the same thing every gen, where they make two opposing legendaries and a third one to complete a sort of trio. And ever since Gen 3/4, legendaries have just been on the decline in terms of numbers. Digimon just has these cool factions that have all this sort of lore to them: The Royal Knights, the Seven Demon Lords, The Olympos XII, etc.
Just my two cents, I think it's really cool.
>>40956221>Xros Wars only gets hate because it blatantly doesn't care about established power levels and that always makes people who get so invested in those seethe. That's part of it, but it's just too different. It alienates the crowd that already liked Digimon, and tried to be its own thing. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think it was done right. I think it has many more flaws other than that, but anyway. I think it should have strived for more about what Habu said on Cyber Sleuth, where he tried to balance what fans already knew and loved about Digimon with new concepts that give a fresh take on the series.
