Might as well put in another one.
I'm white as fuck. I have no trace of black in me unless it's from thousands of years ago. I didn't have any black friends or people I really knew growing up. (Only in the past couple of years I've started to hang around black people more). I didn't even grow up in the ghetto or a poor neighborhood, and I'd probably never date a black person, but my favorite music today probably consists of classic rap/hip-hop. Despite all that I feel like I connect with the music in a way, in my own aspect. Perhaps it's just because it's catchy, maybe because *some* of the songs convey a deep story, or maybe because the people singing are always conveying an experience that involves having fun outside of a NEET-like lifestyle, or because I constantly remember hearing those CDs as a kid at times since my mother played them a lot a long time ago. Who knows. (The only other music I seem to enjoy is 80s metal and J-Pop.)
On a semi-related note, I get pretty annoyed when I meet people that honestly think Tupac is still alive.
