With dynamax being the main gimmick of Galar i feel like it is a good excuse to make "growing up" one of the themes of the anime, by this i don't mean making ash an adult or some shit like that, i would write ash as an almost undefeatable trainer that is always one step ahead because he remembers battles he had in other regions, i mean he has to have learned something from losing so many times , like maybe it would be a good time for him to remember all the absolute nonsense he has done in the past like the thunder armor, and re using those past ass pulls to defeat everyone in galar
and of course gen 9 will happen someday so he has to lose again but i would like ash to go against someone like tobias again as the last challenge
We would not see him using megas or z crystals but he should still remember the feeling of using a z move, you know fully connecting with his pokemon to gain more power, he should only lose the final battle because the trainer he fights against has a completely new thing or new pokemon that ash knows absolutely nothing about, and after losing that motivates him to go to the next region and grow more as a trainer
