I started rewriting it in Haxe, which is pretty cool, but it's very very early on (doesn't even has a GUI yet).

It would be nice to have an Essentials-like tool which could be used to build fan games, but without being strict about being a 1:1 clone of GBA/DS games, and making use of PC features.
A few annoy me in Pokemon games these days. For example, you have to talk with everyone in a city to find out which NPC triggers and event of gives you something. It would be much cooler if you could trigger dialog with normal NPCs just by walking close to them (see pic related), and story/quest relevant NPCs showed an indicator.
As you can see, a common NPC can just show a dialog bubble without making you stop everything to talk to them. An NPC that gives you something shows a different balloon on top of them (see the left side), and you can click on it to trigger an interaction/event.
