Rejuvenation REALLY wants you to care about it's cast because you're going to have to go on like 7 side journeys to save them
At least from I remember of Reborn, you have much more narrative freedom to interpret why the main character is doing what he does. Like 90% of the reborn story is purely for the sake of progressing the league.
The league feels like a side story in rejuvenation.
If I have to give a compliment to both, its that they do make you feel like you're worthy of being a champion with how much absolute bullshit they throw at you.
