I agree with everything you just said. Mega Launcher with mouth-hands being open to reveal cannons/cannon-like mouths would be fuckin' awesome. I'd like to see the ability include more moves, though. Only including "Aura and Pulse" moves, but not anything else that could conceivably be fired from a cannon (think Hydro Pump, Flash Cannon, Fire Blast, Sludge Bomb) is simply another case of Gamefreak being a little slow. Yes, I know it's based on the Japanese names of the attacks, but maybe we should base the mechanics of the ability on how the moves function instead. To go on a bit of a tangent here, I'd love Mega Launcher for a reason to always use Dragon Pulse because the animation is awesome. Like, have you ever had him use D-Pulse in Gen 6? His 3D model looks as if it were supposed to use the move.
Also, he's one of my favorites in the TCG. Makes for some decent utility in eating things and healing, killing energies, and does good, consistent damage.
