>>43438953the pre-thread requests for the midgame shitmons were vaguely lovecraftian shambling fungus beings that ended up kinda humanoid but only in silhouette. the thin mushrooms function as both arms and eyes, dusting spores on things to see. the green ones are shaggy overgrown moss mooses. the ones beneath them are horrible ugly angler fish with alluring bioluminescence (a hand and face spots on the first, a whole noodly fake torso lure on the second which makes it imitate a mermaid, with the fish body acting as the tail). the skirts are gills. beneath that the lizard line are based on a whole mash of concepts, they're alien terraforming organisms, the first stage would populate a barren planet with plants and then they'd progress to bugs and lizards, all while broadcasting information home. they're visually based on geodesic domes, satellites, and space suits. the pair beneath that are made from junk left over from car crashes. first one is a cone, tarmac lumps, and steel cables, second one is signs and exhaust spewing engine and general rubble. beneath that is a hand puppet based loosely on punch and judy crocodiles, a hopper crystal dog, a shark bull terrier, and a bull bulldog. dino is a therizinosaurus. i think the bear dex entry needs something about hunting since the pelts and the red post-hunt face are the big motif!
progress, working on quails and cat now. (btw the way i set out the dex doesn't really account for random 1 stages so we can just edit it as needed, gonna add the cat as a single stage in among the 2 stage shitmons unless anyone wants an evo for it)
