I think the Ultra beasts are proof that GF still has it when it goes full ham, honestly they would look just as good if they where introduced in gen2 sprite aesthetic.
I think Its just that the beta revelation was so sudden that /vp/ is too hyped right now, to the point I have seen them trash every other gen; disregarding the fact there was also a time we all got extremely hyped at their original releases, I cannot forget the hype over revelations like magnezone, Goomy, Clawncher, megamawile and porygon-z. (yes, the gen 4 sprite leak on /v/ was insane hype back then).
