I'd start in Hoenn with my little buddy Archen and slowly make my way through the circuit of towns and landmarks, picking up a few team members on the way.
I'd stop off in Rustboro Gym early on to learn from the earnest and surprisingly cute instructor at the school, who to my surprise turns out to be a gym leader. To pay her back for her kindness, I'd go in search of rare fossils. I was going to wander anyway, and she seems nice.

Once I'd done the full tour of Hoenn, I'd either travel to a new region, or if things were going well, maybe I'd settle down in Rustboro for a while, helping at the school and gym and running errands for the girl I liked.
