At the end of the day, it's the Pokemon Battles that truly matter most in a Pokemon game, so National Dex and Attack/Movement Animations are the most important. Whichever one is most important between those two is up to the individual.
I personally voted for better attack/movement animations to make the battles much less static and more lively and interesting to look at. I'm not too concerned about the Nat. Dex but I understand and sympathize with the people that are peeved about it.
