I'd say it's a little bit of that. imo people eventually develop 'immunity' to getting off to certain things if they fap too much to it, and thus need to seek more depraved ways of getting hard.

I'm surprised you like any pokemon at that point, all of them will get sexualized but just some more than others.
I don't mind that this beast gets sexualized, in fact it adds to the charm, just learn to suck it up and accept nothings safe.

Charizard, Typhlosion, Blaziken and Infernape all fulfill these conditions (Typhlosion had thunderpunch TM in gen 2), while the latter 2 fire starters fall short of their senpais. There's also the issue of Gen V having horrible starters (Serperior had great design but horrible everything else) and Gen VI being the age of Narutofrog because Delphox failed as a waifu character and the grass starter final evo is literally who tier.

Like someone else mentioned earlier useful/good water types are abundant to choose from while grass offers little in the pve campaign. The only grass starter I favoured was Bulbasaur and that was solely for the sleep power/leech seed combination.

Lilligant (first game I actually ditched my starter)
