You've severely underestimated Xerosic's skills as a trainer and worse, his Crobat. The thing is mad, scary fast and has just finished nailing a Cross Poison combo on Frogadier, throwing him across the room.

Before Frogadier can get up, Crobat zooms over to him and one-ups his recovery by relentlessly jabbing his stubby feet into his back, one after the other. Frogadier only manages to escape by slinging frubbles in the bat's eyes.
"Aha! Finally a break!"
Meanwhile, Claurence is sneaking alongside the wall, but he takes a pause everytime he isn't sure the focus is entirely on the battle. Slowly, but surely, he makes his way to your posse, dead set on robbing you while you're at your most vulnerable. Distracted.
