I’m not crazy about Incineroar’s design, it’s okay at best. However, it was the best gen 7 rep to put in Smash, and here’s why. It has the best fighter potential out of any of the other gen 7 pokemon. The fact that’s it’s a wrestler gives the devs a lot to work with seeing as there hasn’t been that type of fighter in Smash before. Not only that but most gen 7 pokemon are pretty obscure. I think there would be backlash no matter what gen 7 pokemon was added.
