Not to mention it doesn't solve the problem brought up by your pictures - you can use one Pokemon in the first five gens and end up with one overleveled Pokemon that might not even be equipped to deal with every situation.
Meanwhile you can still use only one Pokemon in Gen 6+ and still end up with a full team of six that's equipped to get through anything.
