>>41032788Post-game Kanto and the fight with Red were awesome reveals at the time, but what always stuck out to me most about Kanto was the more obviously Japanese aesthetic. Violet City with Sporut Tower, and Ecruteak City with the traditional Japanese architecture and the Tin and Brass towers built alongside each other. The story of Ho-Oh reviving the two legendary beasts was cool, and I can still remember traversing the Whirl Islands to try and find Lugia. Johto was lackluster in terms of challenging gameplay, but aesthetically I still think it's the best experience in the entire franchise.
Supremely comfy.
