It's near unplayable by today's standards, and even if Pt fixed a lot of DP's issues, the reigon of Sinnoh itself is still horrendous to navigate what with it's terrible Pokemon distribution and over reliance on HMs, meaning you're forced to keep at least 1 HM slave in your team, otherwise you'll need to teach your starter Rock Climb or Strength or some shit.
