It's a forced gift in the remakes that cheapens Latios/Latias as legendaries and you don't even get to put in the effort of capturing it with whatever pokeball you desire. No adventure, no mystery, no effort. And you get it because a Team grunt and Admin was bothering it for a bit in the middle of the main game. "FREE LUCARIO" by comparison isn't so bad but considering that they made Riolu pretty early to catch, it must've been a slap to the face for players who caught, bonded and evolved Riolu just to be forced to accept a second Lucario off the bat and mega evolve it for a epic clone battle instead of their own.
