Maybe it's because he's rendered in 3D now so you can see his puppy dog eyes a lot clearer, but the game straight makes me feel like a dick for having to battle this guy. This sickly little kid trains the shit out of his team to prove his worth to you, even going so far as to Smogon the fuck out with a Life Orb Gale Wings Talonflame but he can NEVER canonically beat you and properly resolve his character development. ORAS drives home the fact that Wally is the worst rival because he's supposed to be the protagonist instead.
