Arai's a tech prodigy who despite having a similar gift to Emily, her body was frail-- by comparison to Emily at least. And her parents decided to nurture the talent she seemed to have. So she opted for mechanized enhancement to get around her body's inability to really physically exert itself well. Her arms are not so subtle but her legs are covertly cybernetically enhanced. She's basically a torso and a head strapped to mechanical arms, legs and a spine.
