Like some of the other robots you've seen before, it's not exactly a Pokémon, as it were. While its capabilities are largely the same, it's built to more easily capitalize on the Sniper ability. Its "eyes" allow for it to quickly zone in on its target's weak spots, and effectively make every single blow a devastating critical hit. However, because the scans are constantly occuring every time a new organism enters its line of sight, its "pupils" tend to go off in different directions. Murdoch dislikes how comical this makes it look, since it's striking appearance to an actual Skorupi is meant to instill fear into real Pokémon that aren't machines. There's a good chance that it'll look much more fearsome in its Mk. II development, however.
Of course, this machine didn't exist in his original story. However, he controls it and his other robots the same way he interacts with various pieces of technology at M.A.S.S.'s disposal. I'm not sure if I mentioned how exactly he does so in the past... but that can be for a later time.
>>49051265He's from Unova, right? You could have him look into discovering more ruins dedicated to Volcarona, especially since it was only encountered inside Relic Castle in gen 5. This could possibly tie him to learn more about his own Volcarona, and also allow the two of them to bond as they learn of the firebug's history. It'd make sense in lore since there have been ancient depictions of them and their history in ruins.
