>>42675731I like the idea of a fusion Zmove.
It's a pipe dream but a doubles-focused game would be interesting, reserving single battles for wild encounters.
You get one double-type nuke or if both teammates are carrying the same type, a bonus effect like sandstorm on ground or stealth rock on rock, grass sets grass terrain, etc. If you use a fusion Z with one of them being a status move like Follow Me or Taunt, it'll activate those effects on the target and give you a bonus effect at the cost of damage output. The immediate suggestion is a stat boost, but could also set up a screen or something.
No need to carry a z crystal.
Two per side per battle.
Pokemon with a Gmax or mega form show off their gmax or mega forms during the combo hit, or similarly Necrozma can show off ultra Necrozma and Eternatus gets to show his gropey hand. The gimmick of this is that some mons have forms that can only be brought out via these fusion Z moves. They activate a form-unique ability.
For instance, Silvally holding fairy memory uses a fusion Z with Pichu's Thunderbolt. Silvally then activates its fusion form and ability, where it gains the secondary type of the fusion, now part-electric.
