>>38547607Actually, that's not even optimal. 1/350~ is accurate for simply having a 31+ chain.
If you're specifically chaining you would be using Lures. There's no reason not to as they're effectively reverse Repels, they're a standard purchasable item that lasts a set number of steps, that increases the likelihood of rare Pokemon appearing and increases shiny chance. That brings it down to 1/315.
And if you've completed the Pokedex (which is literally the easiest it's ever been) and have the shiny charm, that brings it down further to 1/273.
The effect of a chain is passive until the chain is broken, which is easily avoidable. Lures and the charm are also passive. So effectively it's extremely easy to set yourself up to always have 1/273 chance of a shiny appearing. However note that this is Let's Go where Pokemon appear in the overworld and since multiple spawn at once, you're rolling that 1/273 on every spawn that appears, which is anywhere around one to five depending on the location.
Let's say you pick one somewhere that spawns three overworld Pokemon every time you enter the area. Your chance of finding a shiny every time you enter that area is
1 - (272/273)^3
= 1 - 0.98905~
= 0.01095~
Therefore, every time you enter that area you would have a 1.1% chance of at least one shiny appearing. Keep in mind entering and exiting an area means literally just walking through the loading zone and back so is a matter of seconds.
