Politoed is a monster of a safe swap and the gains pay for themselves if you plan to play a lot (potentially chasing legend rank). Stick with it and you'll make it, 90 x 5 is a lotta sets and potential dust. I stopped playing once I hit legend and kinda wish I'd spammed 1 wins to get easy dust.
Just hold out on powering up too much random flavor of the day mons that don't have sub-100~ rank pvp IV spreads, they aren't the end-all determining factor but it's always nice to know you're using high stat products vs lower stat products. Glue like Hypno or Skarmory can also help to bring various teams together, so keep an eye out any of those that look fun.
