>>28126433I beat it with Totodile/Treecko. It required some preparation and cheesing, though. What I did was get to the point where Whiscash is able to talk about the Ninetales legend, but rather than listen to it like normal, I went to the Dojo until the Kecleon Shop stocked on Attract. I taught Totodile it. On the floor before the Articuno fight, I gave Treecko my Gravelerocks. Once the fight began, I immediately set him to "Get away from here" so he'd move a space away. Once he does that and Articuno approached me, I set Treecko to "Wait there" and then used Attract on Articuno. Treecko would then be able to attack Articuno from afar with rocks and Quick Attack, while I dish out the real damage. Still had some Reviver Seeds in case he decided to be a cheeky cunt and use Powder Snow.
Second run, I did it without Attract since I forgot to get it. It was harder, but still doable, since a water type leader is able to tank at least one hit from Articuno.
