I saw how busy the UI looks in the latest screenshots and how Wii-era their textures look for environments that I honestly don't even bat an eye anymore.
Literally every JRPG nerd I talk to said the same thing.
Look at the screenshots here. This is a 3DS tier game on a home console. Look at that grass, it looks like the same short grass used in 3DS Pokémon games, in all their pixilated glory.
Game Freak literally can't make current gen 3D games.
