Man, I know everyone is on the new seasons now but I'm still working my way through sun/moon. I thought the games were kinda boring and none of the characters clicked with me. But the anime does such a good job with characterization that I found myself enjoying this season more than any other so far. It has flaws, like the art style isn't to my taste and there aren't enough battles, but they write really fun characters. No one is too flanderized (not yet, at least) and I really enjoy all of the core casts personalities. Stand outs obviously the Litten/Stoutland saga, Olivia being a genuine joy anytime she's on screen, and Sophocles "im moving" episode. Another thing I liked is the continuity within the series. I know it's only in the current season, but seeing characters have flashbacks or mention something that happened 10+ episodes ago as a minor line or just as a reminder that yeah, Ash remembers Stoutland, is great.
