>>43804257I remember seeing the 1st 3 movies in the theater, at the time I didn't know about the promotional cards and I'm not sure the local theater was even giving them out since my home town was pretty small back then and it was just some locally owned place that got everything a couple weeks late. The burger king toys were way better for the 1st movie, didn't even bother trying to get them all for the 2nd even though I loved the legendary birds like crazy meanwhile I had my dad contact someone at burger king to mail order the rest of the toys from the 1st movie that I didn't get from actually eating there so I knew that was an easy option by that point. And I mean I was crazy obsessed with those birds: before even the 1st movie I had a poster on my wall with all the known pokemon in order on it and I'd spend hours using it as a reference for the spelling and dex numbers so I could look up and read about pokemon on my toy pokedex and I was captivated by those 3, articuno being my favorite because blue was my favorite color. Or did blue become my favorite because I loved articuno so much? Back then I'd imagine what it'd be like to have one - riding on its back to school, grooming its feathers, feeding it frozen birdseed and ice cubes, exploring snowy mountains, stuff like that and even making my parents walk with me to go on adventures through my neighborhood trying to find one. I was so excited when I found out about the 2nd movie and I even made little cardboard cutouts I took with me everywhere including to see that movie with my dad, my little sister, and a group of my friends. We even took a bunch of photos in the photobooth at the theater and I still have one of those little photo stickers, pic related, you can barely make out the bird's shapes. It's still my favorite movie even if it's objectively bad because of the birds and the memories I have with my friends and family. Articuno is still my favorite legendary but I'm less autistic. I hope.
