Story: Phlon Town's gates are electronic and are shut down, you must face Risa to activate the gates and advance. In the gym, each trainer is stood by a lightning rod that connects to a gate that allows you to face the next. When you face the first trainer, the battle must last at least 5 rounds which allows the trainer's Pokemon to emit enough electricity for the lightning rod to gather and open the gate. If you defeat them too quick, you must rechallenge them. Each trainer gets a little harder and you must last more rounds. When you reach Risa, your battle must last more than 15 rounds otherwise the gates from the town do not open, whether you beat her or not so you may have to beat her again.
