Hello all I am going to leak to you all the new information from the 2019 games and you can trust me because I am a translator on the French branch of TPCi. My knowledge is limited due to only working on limited portions of the translation so I hope I can get to you some cool info. Also I sadly cannot give proof as I would be caught if I did. This information is known to wide range of employees here so I will be fine.
>The new games will be titled "Pokemon Soar and Pokemon Burrow"
They will release around Quarter 3 or Quarter 4 of 2019. The names are obviously referencing sky travel and underground travel, which have multiple meanings to the games.
The focus on travel is very important to the gameplay but I do not know how exactly.
Going from some of the marketing we translated, they want to focus a lot on the travelling aspect of the Switch, which the names of these games also connect to. If there is any sort of gimmick here I do not know.
>They will have no connection to Pokemon Go, and will focus on core players.
As has been said, Gamefreak wants Let's Go to focus on the Go audience, and Soar & Burrow to focus on the more core audience.
Due to this, the difficulty will be increased in a similar way to the difficulty found in Breath of the Wild, as in it will require the player to use all tools at their disposal to overcome challenges.
This is referenced in NPC dialouge urging the player to make use of debuffing moves such as Growl to overcome gym leaders.
>The region will have a winter theme.
According to dialouge atleast, but I do not know exactly what country it is based on. My guess would either be Canada. Or maybe Sweden?
Finally, the post game will have the player return to 2 regions, although very small portions of them. Specifically Southern Kalos, and Melemele Island from Alola. Dialouge references "many changes in the past years" in reference to these 2 areas.
That is all, please ask any questions and I will answer to best of my ability.
