I'm getting the hang of this game and LOVE IT.
After really struggling to beat this guy at Round 1 with the same team a while back, I thought I wouldn't bother with Round 2. Ended up chipping away at it a few days ago after learning some things from other battles I focused on. My work has paid off!
In short, I focused on trapping and burning Pidgeot and Exeggutor with Rapidash and Ho-Oh, respectively. (Rapidash also confused them after successful hits.)
After having Pawmot one-punch the Butterfree out of existence, I focused on hammering the Exeggutor with Pawmot's sync move, a second serving of that delicious punch and Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire.
Rapidash was the weatherman, keeping it sunny until Ho-Oh could take it from there with its post-sync sunny weather.
I managed this feat thanks to leveled up 2-star fire gear (and ofc sync grid stuff).
