>>38659374I'm the first anon you've been replying to. Look, when it comes to options to use in-game, you have to consider what is viable to use in your walkthrough. In Gen 1 it's like the anon before said: the majority of Pokémon theoriticaly present in the game, because of the movepool limitations, are not even options when you think about it. Like, ok, the opponents are going to have the same Pokémon you have, so at least you have that. But the difference between the bad and good ones is enourmous. You can list every single usable and acessible Pokémon in that game with no trouble. You may have stuff like Parasect, Arbok, Golbat, Arcanine and Gengar that can be caught, but when you go try training them you can see how a pain in the ass it is. It's like the game is begging you to choose the same ones everyone chooses like Starter+Fearow/Pidgeot+Nidos+Raichu+any psychic type+the first water, normal or grass mon that appears (god help you if you want a fire-type).
You see, it is not bad when it comes to what it had to offer in the time it released, but gameplay wise and for those who like the franchise because of the Pokémon avaiable to choose and to battle with, getting through Gen 1s games is simply boring.
