BTW if you want to trade directly, you can add someone as a friend.
Home menu->friend list->register friend->internet and input their number, then go to Festival Plaza and connect to internet, and when the other person accepts and goes there too, you might find each other.
It was easier when PSS was a thing since you would see them immediatly on the "friends" line and quite likely in the "passerby" line if you didn't trade codes, but GF gotta GF.
